The South Shelby Cardinals traveled to Centralia on Friday night, January 27 and came home with a big win over the Panthers, 61 to 59. Three Cardinals put double digits on the scorebook as Wyatt Proper made 20, Tim Fisher 13 and Andre McClure with 12.
   In the first quarter the Cardinals jumped out to take a 15 - 10 early lead. But in the second quarter Centralia came on strong scoring 14 while the Cardinals slipped to a game low 7. At the half Centralia took a 24 - 22 edge over the Cardinals.

Clarence Basketball Teams had their first action on Monday and Tuesday as the 6th grade boys took on Heartland in two games on Monday and the boys scrimmaged against the girls on Tuesday night.

The seventh grade South Shelby Lady Birds ended their season on January 3 against the Macon Lady Tigers in Macon. Ebony Teter led the Lady Birds in scoring with 13 points. Kenzie Kendrick followed with 6 points, Baylee Lanpher and Hannah Allison with 4 points each, and Maddie Fifer and Aleicia Brown with 2 points each. Alex Fenton led the team in steals with 5, Maddie Fifer had 4. The Lady Birds lost to the Lady Tigers, 31 – 40.
